Kristian Steenstrup - Trumpet

Kristian Steenstrup graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1992. He studied at Northwestern University in Chicago from 1988 to 1990 under the guidance of Professor Vincent Cichowicz and privately with Arnold Jacobs (tuba player of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra). He is currently Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus.

He authored Teaching Brass (2007) and Blow Your Mind (2019), both considered reference works in the field of brass pedagogy, and has recorded two CDs with internationally renowned pianist Eriko Takezawa: Capriccio and Danish Music for Trumpet and Piano.

He regularly gives masterclasses in Canada, Israel, Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Scotland, England, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Estonia, Spain, and Italy. He has also recorded numerous instructional videos available for download on the musicians’ online platform www.playwithapro.com.
