Monika Hanus Kobus  - Piano 

Monika Kobus

Dr. Monika Hanus-Kobus was born on November 5, 1990, in Zielona Góra, Poland. She began her piano studies at the age of seven. From 1997 to 2004 she studied under Halina Skałecka at the State Music School of the 1st and 2nd Degree “Mieczysław Karłowicz” in Zielona Góra, and later continued her education in the piano class of Prof. Karol Schmidt.

In 2009 she graduated from a bilingual secondary school. She completed her Master’s degree in 2015 at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, studying piano with Prof. Grzegorz Kurzyński. In 2019, she earned her Doctorate in Chamber Music under the supervision of Prof. Helena Furmanowicz-Kurzyńska.

Dr. Hanus-Kobus is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions. In recent years, she has received particular recognition as a chamber musician, including Second Prize at the Academic Chamber Music Competition in Wrocław (2017), Second Prize at the International Music Competition “Grand Prize Virtuoso” in London (2017), Third Prize at the National Chamber Music Tournament in Bydgoszcz (2015), Second Prize at the Academic Instrumental Duo Competition in Wrocław (2014), and First Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Chieri, Italy (2014).

As a collaborative pianist, she has also been awarded several special prizes, including Best Pianist at the 12th Young Cellists Competition in Wrocław (2017), at the 10th International Michał Spisak Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (2017), and at the 7th National Trumpet Festival in Kalisz (2014).

Dr. Monika Hanus-Kobus has served as an official accompanist at many prestigious international competitions, including the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, the Prague Spring International Music Competition, and the Jeju Brass Competition in South Korea.

She has collaborated with many outstanding artists, among them Gábor Tarkövi (trumpet), Gábor Varga (clarinet), Pierre Génisson (clarinet), and Vítor Fernandes (clarinet).
